Afternoon everyone

Our Christchurch South exchange has been taking place for over 40 years - some of you who were a student here a few years back may have attended yourself!  It is a wonderful event where our two schools take turn about hosting approximately 90 students.  It’s also an opportunity to develop friendships that may last a lifetime - some ex-students are still in touch with their buddy years later!

This year it is our turn to host.  At the end of September, Broadgreen students have the opportunity to host a student from Christchurch South for four nights and be involved in the awesome activities that take place at this time.  We need hosts for approximately 90 billets and at this stage we need a few more families to help out! 50 to be exact!

If this interests you, please read the information attached at the bottom of this email.  Please print, fill in and return to school by week 3, term 3.  If you would like a printed copy, these are available at the front office.

Many thanks

Shared Lunch Info

Wednesday, July 5, 2017

Dear Parents/Caregivers

Phew! It’s the last week of a very busy and exciting term. Room 19 impressed me and the parent/caregiver helpers at camp with their commitment to getting involved, helping out, facing challenges and embracing them. I was so proud as their homeroom teacher to see this exceptional class come together the way they did.

Room 19 is an exceptional class with lots of talents and gifts. I am so lucky to be their teacher. They have completed many amazing things so far this year and should be proud of their achievements.

To celebrate getting to the end of the term, the students have earned a movie afternoon. It was discussed that we would perhaps have a shared lunch to celebrate these successes.

The shared lunch idea was bringing $5 to school to buy a pizza from Pizza Hutt. That would be delivered. Or alternatively, bringing some money and walking to the local fish and chip shop. If you do not want your child to participate in the shared lunch, of course this is fine and not compulsory.

The money for pizza needs to be at school by Friday (can be brought on the day) so that we can pay for pizzas. If your child is going to walk to the fish and chip shop (I will accompany them) they just need your permission, which can be an email or a note in their diary.

Thank you so much for your ongoing support. It has been an awesome term and l am looking forward to next term and it’s exciting challenges.

Kind regards

Trina Wilkinson
